Jakub from Hazlet, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since October of 2020. The array was commissioned in November of that year.
Twenty Solaria 365R-PD panels, 7.3 kW in total, on Ecolibrium mounting with a SolarEdge inverter, and 120 feet of critter guard around the perimeter. The design estimate is 8,938 kWh in the first year. Twenty modules at 365 watts each carry an output that took thirty modules of 300 watts on the 2016 installations, which is the practical effect of four years of module development: the same electricity off a good deal less roof.

Solar questions from Hazlet homeowners
Are all mounting systems much the same?
No. They differ substantially in attachment method, waterproofing, rail design, materials, wind rating and installation requirements. Residential systems should use appropriately listed components installed to the manufacturer's instructions, and the residential code requires rooftop mounting and structural systems to satisfy the applicable structural and listing requirements.
Can New Jersey change its net-metering rules?
Yes. Energy statutes, Board of Public Utilities regulations and utility tariffs can all change. A proposal should describe the rules as they currently stand rather than guarantee that they will hold for decades.
Does Hazlet decide whether the installation is code-compliant?
The municipal construction department reviews and inspects the work under the Uniform Construction Code, but the substantive electrical requirements come from the statewide Electrical Subcode rather than from local preference. Municipalities may also administer zoning requirements where those apply.
