Paul from Morganville, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since November of 2021. The generator was commissioned in March of 2022: a Generac Guardian rated 19.5 kW on natural gas, on a 200-amp managed whole-house switch with a smart management module and surge protection. The load calculation asked for 14 kW across the 1,680 square foot house – two refrigerators, a washer, a gas dryer and a dishwasher – so the machine carries a wide margin over the requirement. A generator asked for well under what it can produce runs cooler and wears its parts more slowly than one working at the edge of its rating, which is worth more on a machine expected to last fifteen years than the money saved by sizing it tightly.
