Joseph from Shrewsbury, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since April of 2024. His 16 kW Generac from the 7000 series runs on Platinum, which pairs the scheduled maintenance with Wi-Fi monitoring so the unit is watched between visits as well as during them. On a generator that has to start in the dark without anybody present, knowing its status in advance is most of the value. Shrewsbury is in Monmouth County.

Thank you for the five stars. Your generator in Shrewsbury is on one of our plans that pairs the annual service with remote monitoring we watch ourselves, so if the machine reports a fault between visits we tend to know before you do. Quiet is the intended result, and we are glad that is what it has given you.
Standby generator questions from Shrewsbury homeowners
Can the existing natural-gas service in a Shrewsbury home supply a generator?
Often yes, but the gas system has to be evaluated first. The review covers the generator's BTU demand, meter capacity, available pressure, regulator capacity, pipe diameter and length, and every other gas appliance in the house -- furnace, boiler, water heater, range and fireplace among them.
Can the generator run the propane tank right down?
It is a poor outage plan. Propane should be monitored and topped up before the generator runs out. Usable capacity is not the same as the tank's nominal water capacity, and cold weather reduces how much vapour the tank can deliver just when the machine is working hardest.
How can a whole house be carried on a smaller electrical service?
Through load management. One or more large loads are controlled so they do not start at the same moment, or shut down briefly if generator demand climbs too high. That is what allows whole-house coverage where the raw sum of every connected load would otherwise exceed the machine.
