Standby Generator Service in Springfield, NJ
Standby Generator Service in Springfield, NJ by Green Sun Energy Services.

Springfield, NJ · Client since September 2022

Scott from Springfield, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since September of 2022. His 22 kW Generac from the 7000 series is on Gold with a ten year term. Gold pairs the annual service with an extended parts and labor warranty, which matters more than it sounds: Generac standard coverage drops to parts only in year three, and by years four and five it reaches little beyond the engine block and alternator. Ten years of full parts and labor removes that cliff. Springfield is in Union County.

Thank you for the rating. The standby generator at your home in Springfield Township is maintained on an annual plan, which means it is serviced, load-tested and checked over properly each year rather than started once and called good. We would far rather find something in April than have you find it in a January storm.

Standby generator questions from Springfield homeowners

Does a propane generator need permits in Springfield?

A permanently installed propane generator normally requires construction permits, and the propane installation has to satisfy the applicable fuel-gas and LP-gas requirements. Tank placement, capacity, piping, regulators, setbacks and fire-safety provisions all come under review.

How can a whole house be carried on a smaller electrical service?

Through load management. One or more large loads are controlled so they do not start at the same moment, or shut down briefly if generator demand climbs too high. That is what allows whole-house coverage where the raw sum of every connected load would otherwise exceed the machine.

Can a fence be put around the generator?

Potentially, but a fence cannot encroach on the required airflow, exhaust and service clearances. A removable screening panel suits some installations, though technicians still need room to open the machine and work on it safely. Local zoning may separately require or regulate screening.
