Standby Generator Service in Red Bank, NJ | Annual Maintenance and an Extended Warranty

Standby Generator Service in Red Bank, NJ
Standby Generator Service in Red Bank, NJ by Green Sun Energy Services.

Red Bank, NJ · Client since November 2018

George from Red Bank, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since November of 2018. A standby generator is only as good as the last time somebody looked at it, which is the whole point of the service contract he signed that autumn. It carries scheduled maintenance visits and a ten year warranty, so the unit gets exercised, inspected and serviced on a fixed calendar rather than after a failure. That coverage has been running for years now without a gap. Red Bank is in Monmouth County, where coastal storms make backup power less of a luxury than a habit.

Standby generator questions from Red Bank homeowners

Will a 22 kW generator run an entire Red Bank house?

For many homes, yes, but that does not mean every load can run at the same moment. Houses with two central air conditioners, electric heat, EV charging, pool equipment or electric cooking may need load management or a larger machine. The answer comes from a load calculation rather than from the phrase whole house.

What happens when the utility power comes back?

The system detects the return of acceptable utility power and transfers the house back automatically. The generator then runs through a programmed cool-down before shutting off and returning to standby. Nobody has to switch anything back by hand.

How is the gas pipe size worked out?

From the generator's demand, the available pressure, the pipe length, the allowable pressure drop, the fittings, the pipe material and every other appliance connected to the system. The adopted fuel-gas code carries the sizing requirements and tables, and the model's published fuel consumption goes into the calculation.
