Michael from East Brunswick, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since January of 2017. He signed in mid January and the array was producing by the middle of February, which is quick for a system this size: 48 LG 315 watt panels on a SolarEdge inverter with an optimizer behind each one and revenue-grade ANSI metering. At 15.12 kW it was designed for about 16,788 kWh in its first year, more than most houses draw. East Brunswick is in Middlesex County.

Solar questions from East Brunswick homeowners
Are panels designed for the wind near East Brunswick?
Yes. The array and its mounting system have to be designed to resist the applicable wind loads, and coastal and exposed locations can carry different wind-design conditions from sheltered inland ones. It is one of the reasons the mounting system and its engineering are chosen for the site rather than by habit.
What does a 460-watt panel mean?
It is rated to produce up to about 460 watts under standardised laboratory conditions. Twenty-five of them make 11.5 kW DC; twenty-six make 11.96 kW. The panel count and the wattage should multiply out to the DC system size stated in the proposal -- if they do not, something has been rounded that should not have been.
What is net metering?
It lets an eligible New Jersey solar customer receive kWh credit for eligible excess solar electricity exported to the grid, up to the amount consumed over the applicable annualised period. The utility meter tracks energy delivered to the property and energy received from it.
