Federal, State, and Utility Incentives

New Jersey homeowners can take advantage of substantial incentives, totaling up to $2,750, including federal, state, and utility programs. By tapping into these incentives, many homeowners can completely offset the cost of purchasing and installing a Level 2 EV charger.

NJ State Rebate

$250 EV Charger Rebate

Charge Up New Jersey offers a $250 incentive for installing eligible Level 2 EV chargers at home. Funded by the Board of Public Utilities with $3 million to promote EV adoption and clean transportation, this incentive supports the purchase and installation of qualifying chargers. Please note that Tesla Wall Connectors are not eligible for this incentive.

$1,500 Rebate from PSE&G

Eligible customers can get up to $1,500 in on-bill credits for upgrading customer-side EV charging equipment like ChargePoint or Tesla and up to $5,000 off utility-side make-ready work deposits with PSE&G. Incentives are processed within 45 days of verification and charger installation.

PSE&G Off-Peak Rate Credit

PSE&G residential customers can earn a $0.105/kWh off-peak charging credit for EV charging during off-peak hours, up from $0.02/kWh before June 1, 2023. Conditions apply. Please note that Tesla Wall Connectors are not eligible for this incentive.

$1,000 Rebate from ACE

Residential customers may qualify for a rebate of up to 50% of electrical upgrade costs (up to $1,000) for installing a Level 2 EV charger. ACE will issue the rebate within 45 days after validating all required information, confirming installation, and verifying eligibility.

$0 Rebate from JCP&L

JCP&L REBATES HAVE BEEN DISCONTINUED. Prior to June 30, 2025, JCP&L offered up to $1,500 to cover customer make-ready work for qualified Level 2 chargers, like ChargePoint, and up to $5,500 for utility make-ready work per site. Limited to the first 2,000 applicants, the program ends December 31, 2026, or when funds run out. Incentives are processed within 45 days of submitting and validating required information.

JCP&L Off-Peak Rate Credit

JCP&L INCENTIVES HAVE BEEN DISCONTINUED. Prior to June 30, 2025, JCP&L residential customers can earn a $0.02/kWh credit for EV charging during off-peak hours. Terms apply.

$1,000 Federal Tax Credit

Consumers who purchase qualified residential fueling equipment between January 1, 2023, and June 30, 2026, may receive a 30% federal tax credit of up to $1,000.

$600 Federal Tax Credit

From January 1, 2023, through June 30, 2026, eligible consumers installing a 200-amp service panel required for their Energy Star rated EV Charger can claim a 30% tax credit of up to $600.
