Ross from Marlboro, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since April of 2017. His 20 kW Generac was installed by another company in September of 2013 and he switched the servicing to us on a Silver plan. The unit is Honeywell badged, which is the same Generac machine under a different label and takes the same parts and the same annual visit. Marlboro is in Monmouth County.
Mike was extremely professional. Showed up in a timely manner. Performed his tasks quickly and efficiently and was very neat! Well done! Thank you

Standby generator questions from Marlboro homeowners
Does the house run on the generator during its weekly exercise?
Not necessarily -- it depends on the generation of equipment, the controller and the configuration. Traditional systems commonly exercise without transferring the house at all. Newer equipment with current controls may support different exercise and transfer behaviour.
Can a generator be raised on a platform?
Yes. Manufacturer guidance specifically covers installations on platforms and other supporting structures, and directs them to the applicable fire-safety standard, including a noncombustible surface extending beyond the generator for the configuration addressed. Flood and structural requirements have to be satisfied as well.
Does new gas piping have to be pressure tested in Marlboro?
Yes. Gas piping subject to the adopted fuel-gas code must be inspected and tested before it is accepted. New Jersey adopts the 2024 International Fuel Gas Code, which governs the inspection, the test pressure and how long the test has to hold.
