Sean from Port Monmouth, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since January of 2019. The solar array on the house was installed by another company, and that January we fitted black PVC-coated critter guard around it — eight-inch mesh, sized to close the gap between the panels and the roof, and the work was finished eight days after the contract was signed. That gap is the whole reason the job exists: dry, shaded and sheltered from weather and predators, it is close to ideal for squirrels and nesting birds, which chew wiring and foul the roof surface underneath. Fitting guard to an array already up costs a fraction of clearing out a nest and repairing what was damaged, and Port Monmouth sits on the Bayshore where the birds are not in short supply.
