Standby Generator Installation

When the power goes out, a standby generator starts on its own. It is wired into the house and runs on natural gas or propane, so there is nothing to drag out of the garage and nothing to fill in the dark. Below are standby generators we have installed at homes across New Jersey. Each one shows the unit that went in, the transfer switch behind it and the town it is in, and where the homeowner left a review you will find that too. If you are trying to work out what size you need, this is a good place to start.

621 completed standby generator projects across 123 New Jersey towns, including 123 with a review written by the customer.

Generac 17 kW Standby Generator in Red Bank, NJ | Two Sump Pumps Covered

Jerry from Red Bank, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since December of 2012. He and Gail signed in the middle of December and the generator was commissioned at the end of May, a 17 kW Generac behind a service-rated automatic transfer switch. It covers 2,400 square feet, two refrigerators, a freezer, the laundry and two sump pumps. The pumps are the reason the whole-house switch matters here rather than a chosen list of circuits. Red Bank is in Monmouth County.

Generac 11 kW Standby Generator in Lincroft, NJ | Sump Pump and Cold Storage Covered

Phyllis from Lincroft, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since December of 2013. She and John signed two days before Christmas and the generator was commissioned in the middle of March, an 11 kW Generac in a steel enclosure behind a 150-amp service-rated transfer switch with two power management modules. It carries 2,000 square feet, two refrigerators, a freezer, the laundry and a sump pump. Lincroft is in Monmouth County, where the tree cover is generous and the power lines pay for it.

Generac 14 kW Standby Generator in Farmingdale, NJ | Two Ovens and Two Refrigerators

John from Farmingdale, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since December of 2012. He and Peggy signed a week before Christmas and the generator was commissioned the following June, a 14 kW Generac behind a service-rated automatic transfer switch. Farmingdale is in Monmouth County.

Generac 8 kW Standby Generator in Manchester, NJ | Installed the Winter After Sandy

Jean from Manchester, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since December of 2012. She and Paul signed that December and the generator was commissioned in April, four months later, which was the going rate in the winter after Sandy when every standby unit in New Jersey was spoken for. It is an 8 kW Generac on a ten-circuit EZ switch, sized for 600 square feet and a refrigerator. Manchester is in Ocean County.

Generac 8 kW Standby Generator in Keyport, NJ | Refrigerator, Sump Pump, Ten Circuits

Andrew from Keyport, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since January of 2013. He signed in the middle of January and the generator was running by the end of May, an 8 kW Generac on a ten-circuit EZ switch covering 600 square feet, a refrigerator and a sump pump. That last one is the whole argument on the Raritan Bay shoreline: a sump that stops during a storm is how a basement fills. Keyport is in Monmouth County.

Generac 8 kW Standby Generator in Manchester, NJ | Essential-Circuit Backup

Bob from Manchester, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since December of 2012. He and Tina signed that December and the generator was commissioned in April, an 8 kW Generac on a ten-circuit EZ switch covering 600 square feet and a refrigerator. Manchester is a township of quiet residential communities in the Ocean County pines, where the lines run through a great deal of tree cover and a well-sized 8 kW unit is the sensible specification rather than the compromise.

Generac 8 kW Standby Generator in Manchester, NJ | Three Refrigerators and a Freezer

Joseph from Manchester, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since November of 2012. He signed that November and the generator was commissioned the following April, an 8 kW Generac on a ten-circuit EZ switch. The survey is the interesting part: only 600 square feet to keep running, but three refrigerators and a freezer on it. Cold storage, not floor area, is what decided the sizing here. Manchester is in Ocean County, in the pines west of Toms River.

Estimated first-year production is 12,838 kWh and the utility is JCP&L. Forty-seven panels is a great many, and it is a function of the year rather than the ambition. At 235 watts a module — ordinary

Dale from Farmingdale, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since December of 2016.
