Robert from Scotch Plains, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since August of 2022. The generator was commissioned that November: a Generac Guardian rated 17 kW on natural gas, sited outdoors beside the meter, with a 100-amp service-entrance switch, a smart management module and surge protection. The load calculation set a 13 kW minimum for the 2,232 square foot house, so the unit carries a clear margin over what the code asks for. A large bush between the meter and the chimney had to come out before the crew could work, which is the ordinary reality of siting one of these: a generator needs clearance on every side for airflow and for the service visits that follow, and a spot that looks fine in summer can be tight once something has grown into it.
