17 kW Whole-House Backup in Monroe, NJ

Thomas from Monroe, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since January of 2022. The generator was commissioned that July: a Generac Guardian rated 17 kW on natural gas, on a 150-amp service-entrance switch with a smart management module and surge protection. The load calculation asked for 15 kW across the 1,886 square foot house, where an electric dryer and a separate freezer do more to set the number than the floor area does. An electric dryer alone draws roughly five times what a gas one does, which is why two houses of the same size can need very different machines. The generator is supported by annual maintenance, an extended parts-and-labor warranty, and monitoring we manage.
