Solar Panel Installation in Brant Beach, NJ | 176 Feet of Critter Guard on Long Beach Island

Brant Beach, NJ · Client since April 2026

Andrew from Brant Beach, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since April of 2026. In May we fitted 176 feet of six-inch black PVC-coated critter guard around an existing solar array. Barrier island roofs are a particular case. Gulls and other shore birds are larger and more determined than the squirrels most guard is fitted against, and a nest under an array on Long Beach Island is as likely to be theirs as anything else. The mesh runs the whole perimeter, which is the only edge that matters, and it is coated black so it disappears against the panel frames from the ground. Nothing about the array changes; the gap underneath simply stops being available.

Why Andrew chose Green Sun Energy Services

More than solar panels: a professionally managed energy system, from design and permitting through installation, inspection, activation and ongoing support.

Solar questions from Brant Beach homeowners

What should a Brant Beach homeowner look for in a solar company?

One that can design, permit, interconnect, install, commission, monitor and service the system, and explain the structure accurately. That means twelve months of real usage, a realistic production model, correct kW and kWh arithmetic, orientation and shading, structural capacity, the rooftop code requirements, the electrical articles for photovoltaic systems and grid interconnection, rapid shutdown, manufacturer installation instructions, utility interconnection and net metering, incentive registration, roof age and condition, penetration and waterproofing detail, the panel, inverter, mounting and workmanship warranties, monitoring, and service after the installation. The question worth asking is not who quoted least, but which company has designed the best long-term system for the house and will still be able to support it years from now.

What happens if one panel stops working?

It depends on the architecture and on the nature of the fault. With module-level electronics a problem affecting one panel or device can often be isolated without stopping the rest of the array, and monitoring is what identifies abnormal module-level performance before anyone notices it on a bill.

Does production have to match usage every month?

No. New Jersey net metering works over an annualised period rather than month by month, so credits accumulated in high-production months are available during the low-production ones.
