Donald from Perrineville, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since November of 2021. The generator was commissioned in June of 2022: a Generac Guardian rated 19.5 kW on natural gas, feeding a GenReady load center in the basement with two smart management modules. The load calculation asked for 18 kW across 2,600 square feet, and the well pump on the list is the item that changes the character of an outage out here – a house on a well has no water at all once the power stops, which puts backup in a different category from keeping the lights on. An electric oven, an electric dryer, a refrigerator, a washer and a dishwasher fill out the load. The generator is supported by annual maintenance, an extended parts-and-labor warranty, and monitoring we manage.

Standby generator questions from Perrineville homeowners
Can the generator stay connected during a pressure test?
The machine has to be protected from test pressures beyond what its fuel controls are built to withstand. The fuel-gas code sets out when appliances are disconnected or isolated for testing, and the plumbing contractor follows both that code and the generator's installation instructions.
How deep does the electrical conduit have to be buried?
It depends on the wiring method and the location; there is no single burial depth for every installation. The National Electrical Code governs underground wiring and sets minimum cover in a table, and the conduit type, the location and the physical protection all change the answer.
Will a 22 kW generator run an entire Perrineville house?
For many homes, yes, but that does not mean every load can run at the same moment. Houses with two central air conditioners, electric heat, EV charging, pool equipment or electric cooking may need load management or a larger machine. The answer comes from a load calculation rather than from the phrase whole house.
