We installed a 9.46 kW array in May: 22 Qcells 430-watt panels, each on its own Enphase microinverter, with first-year production estimated at 12,842 kWh. The array is leased rather than owned, which puts the electricity at 10.3 cents per kWh against the 29.85 cents Atlantic City Electric was charging at the time of the install, roughly a third of the utility rate. The lease carries no annual escalator, so those 10.3 cents hold for the full 25 years while the utility price keeps moving; it has been rising around 3 percent a year. On that basis the projected saving averages about 325 dollars a month across the term.
