A Cancellation Clause Written Into the Contract in Rumson

The generator was commissioned that December, on a managed whole-house switch, sized against a 16 kW calculation for the 1,850 square foot house, with an electric dryer, two refrigerators, a washer and a dishwasher on the load list. The contract carried an unusual clause: the household could cancel without penalty by a named date if the final location or the final cost turned out unacceptable once the survey work was done. That is a fair way to handle the two things nobody can settle before a site visit – where the machine will actually go, and what the groundwork to get it there will cost – and it puts the risk of an unwelcome answer on us rather than on the customer. Annual maintenance, a ten-year extended parts-and-labor warranty and monitoring we manage all sit behind it.
