One condition was set out before the contract was signed: the Verizon FIOS box had to be moved to the right of the electric meter before installation day. Clearances around a meter and a transfer switch are set by code rather than by preference, and an inspector will fail work that does not have them – so the box comes first, whatever else is waiting. Two sump pumps and two refrigerators make up most of the load, and annual maintenance, an extended parts-and-labor warranty and monitoring we manage all sit behind the machine.
