A New Roof, Then 6.66 kW of Solar in Red Bank, NJ

Brandon from Red Bank, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since May of 2022, and booked the roof and the array a day apart. The roof came first, finished on 10 June: a single layer stripped to the sheathing and hauled away, then 2,300 square feet of new composition shingle in charcoal with a 50-year warranty. The array followed in August – 18 panels making 6.66 kW into a SolarEdge HD Wave inverter with optimizers, 64 feet of critter guard along the exposed edges, and an estimated 7,000 kilowatt hours in the first year. JCP&L interconnected the system three weeks later. Two months between the roof and the panels is the right way round: the shingles underneath will outlast the array on top, so the panels should never have to come off and go back on.
