Does new gas piping have to be pressure tested in Farmingdale?
Yes. Gas piping subject to the adopted fuel-gas code must be inspected and tested before it is accepted. New Jersey adopts the 2024 International Fuel Gas Code, which governs the inspection, the test pressure and how long the test has to hold.
How much propane does a generator use?
It depends on the model and on the electrical load. For a current 22 kW machine the published figures are roughly 2.45 gallons of LP an hour at half load, and about 135 cubic feet of LP vapour an hour at full load. Real consumption moves with what the house is actually drawing.
How level does a generator have to be?
Within the leveling tolerance specified in its installation manual -- applicable air-cooled instructions have used roughly a half-inch overall. A poorly prepared base can settle after installation and bring on drainage, vibration or enclosure problems that were not there on the day it went in.
