Yun from Holmdel, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since May of 2026. That month we removed an existing 4.5 kW array: 20 panels, the mounting system, the inverter, the disconnects and all the exterior conduit and wiring, so the roof underneath could be replaced. The flashing and lag bolts were left in place for the roofer to take out, and that detail is what decides whether the roof leaks afterwards. Pulling them early opens twenty-odd holes in a deck that is about to be stripped anyway, and every one of them is a chance for water to get in before the new roof is on. Taking an array off is a job in its own right, and doing it in the correct order is what makes the roofing work that follows straightforward.
