Paul from Middletown, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since December of 2022. Three modules is the most on any installation we have written up, and the load survey explains it – an electric oven and an electric dryer alongside two refrigerators and two freezers, across 3,000 square feet. Each module holds back one heavy load for a moment when several want to start together, so three of them means three separate things can be deferred rather than the machine being asked for everything at once. The calculation came to 19 kW, and the machine matches it closely.

Can the platform height be read off the FEMA flood map?
Not necessarily. The map matters, but it may not carry every elevation the platform design needs. An Elevation Certificate, a surveyed ground elevation, the Base Flood Elevation, the Design Flood Elevation, the local freeboard and the municipal flood ordinance can all bear on it, so the height is calculated for the specific property.
What does the automatic transfer switch do?
It moves the home's electrical supply between the utility and the generator. That is what lets the system work automatically, and it is also what prevents the house being connected to both sources at once. It is the piece that makes the rest safe.
Can a generator be installed on a deck or a roof?
Platform, deck and supporting-structure installations are recognized, but they call for additional review: structural capacity, noncombustible surface requirements, fire clearance, exhaust, airflow, vibration, service access and local requirements all have to be addressed. It is a site-specific installation rather than a routine location.
