Lisa from Middletown, NJ became a Green Sun Energy Services client in June of 2020. The generator was installed by another company, and the servicing came to us for its first-year visit, carried out that same month. The first service is the one that matters most on a new machine: the break-in oil comes out and the valves are checked at the point they are most likely to need adjusting, and skipping it is the most common reason a generator that was fine at installation is not fine three years later. Servicing here was arranged as and when rather than under a continuing plan, but the visit was done and the machine was left in order.

Standby generator questions from Middletown homeowners
Can a generator be installed in a flood zone in Middletown?
Yes, but the generator and its electrical equipment may need to be elevated or otherwise protected. The installation is evaluated against the property's FEMA flood zone, its Base Flood Elevation and Design Flood Elevation, the municipal flood ordinance, any applicable freeboard, and NJDEP requirements where they apply. It is a property-by-property assessment rather than a rule of thumb.
Will a 22 kW generator run an entire Middletown house?
For many homes, yes, but that does not mean every load can run at the same moment. Houses with two central air conditioners, electric heat, EV charging, pool equipment or electric cooking may need load management or a larger machine. The answer comes from a load calculation rather than from the phrase whole house.
Should gas pressure be checked while the generator is running?
Yes. Operating pressure means more than a static reading taken with the generator off. The fuel system has to hold adequate pressure while the generator runs and other appliances may also be drawing gas. That matters most when an existing residential service is being reused.
