Andrew from Scotch Plains, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since July of 2026. In August we replaced the existing standby generator with a 22 kW Generac, reusing the pad and the gas line already in place. The sizing came from the load survey rather than the floor area alone: an electric range and an electric oven together draw several times what their gas equivalents would, and there are two refrigerators to keep cold, so the code calculation set the minimum at 18 kW and the 21 kW this machine produces on natural gas leaves real headroom above it. It carries the whole house through a 200-amp service-entrance transfer switch mounted indoors beside the panel, and one of our service plans supports it, including remote monitoring that Green Sun manages directly.
