The ten-year service has been carried out every year since – 2023, 2024 and again after that. A machine in its fifteenth year is well beyond the age at which most standby generators have been quietly written off, and the only thing separating one that still starts from one that does not is whether somebody keeps opening the enclosure. An annual maintenance plan covers the visit, with the manufacturer’s standard warranty behind the machine.

Does new gas piping have to be pressure tested in Atlantic Highlands?
Yes. Gas piping subject to the adopted fuel-gas code must be inspected and tested before it is accepted. New Jersey adopts the 2024 International Fuel Gas Code, which governs the inspection, the test pressure and how long the test has to hold.
Can a standby generator run central air conditioning?
Yes, when it is sized for it. The design has to account for both the running demand and the starting surge of the air-conditioning equipment. Load-management equipment can be used where necessary so that demand does not all arrive at once.
Does the clearance apply to a fixed window as well as one that opens?
A permanently fixed pane may be treated differently from an operable window, because the concern in the placement guidance is exhaust and carbon monoxide entering the building. Even so, the installer has to evaluate the exact model's manual and everything nearby -- operable windows, doors, vents, fresh-air intakes, window wells and mechanical openings. A fixed window should never simply be assumed acceptable.
