A 22 kW Generac on a 150-amp service
The machine is a 22 kW Generac on natural gas, commissioned in December of 2021 by another company, behind a managed whole-house transfer switch on a 150-amp service. Its servicing moved to us just over two years later. That is early for a takeover and it is the best moment for one: nothing has been neglected yet, the machine is still well inside its original warranty, and there is an unbroken service history from that point onwards rather than a gap somebody has to guess at.
It has been on our Platinum plan since – annual maintenance, extended parts-and-labor cover and remote monitoring that Green Sun runs directly. The monitoring is the part that changes how a standby generator behaves as a possession. It exercises itself every week whether anybody is listening or not, and the only way to know it has quietly stopped doing so is to be told.
376 bulbs back on the roofline
November of 2024. Three hundred and seventy-six C9 bulbs along the roofline – the household’s own lights rather than a new set, brought out of storage, put up in early November and taken down again after the New Year. Reusing lights is the sensible arrangement once a roofline has been done properly once: the measurements exist, the runs and the clip lines are known, and nobody is buying a fresh set every November for the sake of it.
