Gordon from Perth Amboy, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since December of 2024. The charger went into the garage in February: a hardwired ChargePoint Level 2 unit rated 11.5 kW on a dedicated 60-amp circuit, within ten feet of the breaker box. The load calculation put the minimum service at 106 amps, comfortably inside the supply the house already had. Running that calculation before anything is ordered is what separates a charger that can simply be added from one that needs a service upgrade first – and where the figure comes out above what a panel can carry, a load manager holds the installation inside its limits rather than the whole job stalling. A permit was filed with the city and a utility rebate application submitted.
