Standby Generator Installation and Standby Generator Service in Middletown, NJ by Green Sun Energy Services.
John from Middletown, NJ became a Green Sun Energy Services client in June of 2025, and that September we completed a Generac standby generator installation at his home. The generator watches the utility supply and starts automatically within seconds of an outage, so heat, lights, refrigeration and the well pump keep running whether or not anyone is home. It is covered by a Green Sun service plan with scheduled maintenance, so it is tested ahead of storm season rather than during it. Homeowners across Monmouth County choose Green Sun Energy Services for standby power installed and maintained by one local team.

It was a pleasure having Greensun install my new generator. They are very knowledgeable and was able to solve any issues easily and quickly we had along the way. Jenn made sure I was taken care of even after the install was completed. Thank you Green Sun!
Green Sun Energy Services replied
Thank you, John, and Jenn will be glad to hear it. Solving what comes up along the way is a fair description of a generator installation, because no two houses present the same problem twice. Staying in touch after the machine is running is the part that is easiest to drop, so it is good to hear it did not.
Standby generator questions from Middletown homeowners
What happens if the manufacturer and Middletown disagree?
The installation has to satisfy all applicable requirements. A manufacturer's listing cannot be ignored, and a manufacturer's minimum clearance does not cancel a municipal zoning requirement. Where requirements conflict or the interpretation is uncertain, the Authority Having Jurisdiction is consulted before the work goes in rather than after.
Does the generator need its own gas shutoff?
The fuel installation has to include the shutoff arrangements required by the adopted fuel-gas code and by the installation instructions. The valve must be positioned where it is accessible, both for servicing and for isolating the machine in an emergency.
What happens if we add a heat pump, a pool or an EV charger later?
Any major new electrical load should prompt a review of the generator's capacity. A machine sized correctly at installation may no longer be adequate once substantial loads are added. Load management can often accommodate the new equipment without replacing the generator.
