Excellent company! I had my generator installed years ago and Green Sun has maintained it since. They perform regular maintenance and inspection. They tell me when they are coming and do the work. Painless peace of mind. Another thing they do is before big storms, they send out information on what steps to take if power is lost and generator doesn't come on. That has never happened, but good to have the info.

Standby generator questions from Middletown homeowners
Can a generator be installed in a flood zone in Middletown?
Yes, but the generator and its electrical equipment may need to be elevated or otherwise protected. The installation is evaluated against the property's FEMA flood zone, its Base Flood Elevation and Design Flood Elevation, the municipal flood ordinance, any applicable freeboard, and NJDEP requirements where they apply. It is a property-by-property assessment rather than a rule of thumb.
Does a generator need a concrete pad?
Not universally. Approved alternative support systems are permitted for applicable models. Concrete or an engineered platform may still be required because of the site conditions, flood requirements, anchoring, municipal requirements or structural design -- but it is not automatic.
Is a standby generator the same as a portable one?
No. A home standby generator is permanently installed and automatically connected to the home's electrical and fuel systems. A portable normally has to be placed, fuelled, started and connected by hand each time, using approved connection equipment. The standby machine is designed as an integrated backup-power system rather than as something you fetch out of the garage.
