The Pizzo household in Spray Beach has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since July of 2024. The generator on this property was put in by another company in January 2021. We look after it now, and in the summer of 2025 we washed the house as well.
Taking on a generator installed by others
Not every generator we maintain is one we installed, and a machine that was fitted by somebody else is not a lesser job to take on — it is a more careful one. There is no survey of ours to read, no record of how the gas was run or where the transfer switch went, and no history of what has been replaced. All of that has to be established on the first visit rather than looked up.
This one is a Generac 22 kW, model 7042, commissioned in January 2021. It is on a PowerBase Platinum plan with Wi-Fi monitoring, which is the part that matters most on a house like this. A standby generator exercises itself weekly whether anyone is home or not, and a barrier-island house is empty for long stretches. Monitoring means a fault announces itself rather than waiting to be discovered on the first night of a storm, which is the one night it will not be.
It was last serviced on 14 July 2026.
8,438 square feet on a barrier island
In June 2025 we soft washed 8,438 square feet of exterior.
Soft washing does the work with a sodium hypochlorite and surfactant solution applied at low pressure, left to kill the algae and mildew growing on the surface, and rinsed off. Pressure alone takes the stain away and leaves the growth rooted where it is, so it returns within a season — and on a house near the ocean, where everything weathers faster, that difference shows up sooner than it does inland.

Questions from Spray Beach homeowners
Soft washingWhat is the best time of year to soft wash a house in Spray Beach?
Spring through autumn offers plenty of suitable days, though the weather matters more than the month. Spring is popular for clearing winter buildup and pollen residue. Hard cold, storms and high winds can make exterior cleaning impractical, and heavy rain dilutes the chemistry and cuts short its dwell time.
Standby generatorWhat gas pressure does a generator need?
It is model-specific and has to be read off the specification sheet rather than assumed. A current 22 kW model, for instance, specifies a minimum natural-gas pressure of 3.5 inches water column. Different models carry different requirements.
Soft washingShould children stay away during soft washing?
Yes. Children should remain away from the active work zone. The site may contain hoses, wet surfaces, ladders, cleaning products and equipment.
