Does the transfer switch need flood protection as well as the generator?
Yes. A flood review should cover much more than the generator enclosure. FEMA recommends that a residential standby system consider elevation or protection of the generator, the transfer switch, the normal and emergency panels, the feeders and the control wiring together.
How deep does the electrical conduit have to be buried?
It depends on the wiring method and the location; there is no single burial depth for every installation. The National Electrical Code governs underground wiring and sets minimum cover in a table, and the conduit type, the location and the physical protection all change the answer.
Will a 24 kW generator run an entire Holmdel house?
For many homes, yes, but that does not mean every load can run at the same moment. Houses with two central air conditioners, electric heat, EV charging, pool equipment or electric cooking may need load management or a larger machine.
