Basavaraj from Holmdel, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since October of 2025. The generator was installed by another company and commissioned in November of 2022, and the servicing came to us three years later, beginning with the three-year service that October. Three years is the point at which the original installer’s involvement has usually lapsed, and the intervals from then on are kept by whoever the household chooses next – or by nobody at all, which is the more common outcome. An annual maintenance plan now covers the yearly visit.

Standby generator questions from Holmdel homeowners
Will a 22 kW generator run an entire Holmdel house?
For many homes, yes, but that does not mean every load can run at the same moment. Houses with two central air conditioners, electric heat, EV charging, pool equipment or electric cooking may need load management or a larger machine. The answer comes from a load calculation rather than from the phrase whole house.
How deep does the electrical conduit have to be buried?
It depends on the wiring method and the location; there is no single burial depth for every installation. The National Electrical Code governs underground wiring and sets minimum cover in a table, and the conduit type, the location and the physical protection all change the answer.
Can the generator share a propane tank with the furnace?
Potentially, if the tank, the regulators and the piping can supply the combined demand of the generator and every other appliance that might run at the same time. It is the whole connected load that has to be considered, not the generator on its own.
