An 18 kW standby generator for Hillsborough:

The unit is the Generac Model 7259, paired with a 150-amp service entrance rated automatic transfer switch with integrated surge protection (Model G0099310). The package also includes cellular, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity, a 12-volt start battery, and a 5,000 PSI precast concrete generator pad measuring 54″ x 32″ x 3″ and weighing 190 lbs.
The home runs on natural gas supplied through the existing PSEG connection, and the system was sized for 2,800 square feet of living space on a 150-amp electrical service. The configuration is a Managed Whole House setup, meaning the transfer switch handles the entire home rather than a selected subset of circuits. Two Load Management Modules are included to control two 60-amp devices; in this case, the load-managed appliance is the EV charging station. When the generator is running during an outage, those modules can shed the charger’s draw automatically if demand approaches the unit’s capacity — so the generator keeps the house running without being overwhelmed by a single high-draw device.
The electrical scope included #6 AWG copper grounding from the water main to the service entrance main. The generator carries a 5-year limited warranty from Generac and a separate 5-year limited workmanship warranty from Green Sun Energy Services, LLC.
