The generator
A Generac 5887 rated 20 kW on propane and 18 kW on natural gas, running on natural gas, feeding a 90-amp transfer switch. It was installed in December of 2012 by another company. Green Sun took it on in March of 2020 and has serviced it every year since – April in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024, March of 2025 and February of 2026. Seven consecutive visits on a machine now well over a decade old, which is the whole reason it is still the machine and not a replacement.
Holiday lighting
Two hundred and ten C9 bulbs along the roofline, warm white at 2700K, installed in November of 2025. This was the first season, so the run was measured and cut for this roof rather than adapted from something off a shelf. The lights are Green Sun’s own and are taken down, stored and put back up each year, which means the measuring is done once.
