Two Layers Off and 60 Panels On in Manalapan, NJ

Louis from Manalapan, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since November of 2022, and booked the roof and the array on the same day. The roof was finished on 2 February: two layers of old shingle stripped to the sheathing and hauled away, then 3,300 square feet of new composition shingle in barkwood with a 50-year warranty, plus new gutters. The array went on a week later – 60 panels making 24 kW into a SolarEdge Energy Hub inverter with optimizers, 396 feet of critter guard around the perimeter, and an estimated 22,861 kilowatt hours in the first year. At twenty-four kilowatts this is the largest residential array on the site, and JCP&L interconnected it in June. A system this size only makes sense on a roof that will outlast it, which is why the two layers came off first.
