Which electrical code applies to a new installation?
Under the current New Jersey code cycle the Electrical Subcode adopts the 2023 National Electrical Code. Projects filed during a code-transition period are evaluated under the applicable transition provisions rather than assumed into the newer cycle.
Will it work if nobody is home?
Yes, which is one of the main advantages over a portable generator. It has to be properly installed, fuelled, maintained, free of active shutdown alarms and left in AUTO.
