Standby Generator Service

A generator sits quietly for a year and then has to work on the one night it matters. That means the battery, the oil, the weekly test cycle and the transfer switch, all checked before the storm rather than during it. These are New Jersey homes we look after on a maintenance plan, and plenty of the generators on this list were installed by somebody else. Each one names the equipment on site and the town, so what you are reading is work we actually did rather than a list of what a plan covers.

939 completed generator service projects across 142 New Jersey towns, including 165 with a review written by the customer.

Standby Generator Service in Lincroft, NJ | Servicing Taken Over

Stacy from Lincroft, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since January of 2026. The generator was installed by another company and commissioned in December of 2023, and the servicing came to us two years later, starting with the three-year service that January. Two years is early enough that nothing has been left unattended long – the machine is still inside its original warranty and the intervals have not begun to slip – so the record starts clean rather than with a list of things to put right. An annual maintenance plan now covers the yearly visit.

18 kW Standby Generator Installation in Howell, NJ | Whole-House Backup

Meta from Howell, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since December of 2021. The generator was commissioned in March of 2022: 18 kW on natural gas, on a 200-amp service-entrance switch with a smart management module and surge protection. The load calculation asked for 15 kW across the 2,000 square foot house, with a sump pump among the loads – the item that turns a long outage from an inconvenience into water in the basement. Howell is largely wooded and its outages tend to come from trees on lines rather than from the coast, which often means

14 kW Standby Generator Installation in Belford, NJ | Generac Generator

Dino from Belford, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since August of 2021. The generator was commissioned that December: 14 kW on natural gas, on a 100-amp service-entrance switch with a smart management module. The calculation asked for 13 kW across the 1,812 square foot house, so the machine and the requirement are closely matched – and on a 100-amp service there is no spare headroom to absorb a bad estimate, which is why the survey matters more here than on a modern 200-amp panel. Belford sits on the bay behind Sandy Hook, in the part of

Standby Generator Installation in Brick, NJ | Clearing the Way for a Generator

Deborah from Brick, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since July of 2023. The generator was commissioned that September, sized against a 15 kW calculation for the 2,572 square foot house, on a whole-house transfer switch. The siting came with a condition agreed before the contract was signed: a bush in front of the electric meter had to be cut back and the decorative grasses removed so the machine could go where it needed to go. That sort of thing is worth settling in writing rather than discovering on installation day, when the choice becomes a delay

Standby Generator Installation in Farmingdale, NJ | A 17 kW Generator Running Since 2013

James from Farmingdale, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since December of 2012, one of the earliest relationships on the site. The generator was commissioned in May of 2013: 17 kW on natural gas, on a 200-amp whole-house transfer switch. The load calculation asked for only 8 kW across the 1,800 square foot house, so the machine was specified at more than double the requirement – a decision that has aged well, because a generator asked for a fraction of what it can produce works less hard every time it runs. Thirteen years on, an annual maintenance

22 kW Standby Generator Installation in Seaside Park, NJ | Generac Generator

John from Seaside Park, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since August of 2020. The generator was commissioned in January of 2021: a Generac Guardian rated 19.5 kW on natural gas, on a 150-amp service-entrance switch with two smart management modules. The load calculation asked for 19 kW across 4,000 square feet, and the cold storage is most of the reason – four refrigerators and two separate freezers, six appliances that must keep running whether anyone is in the house or not. On a barrier island, where an evacuation can leave a property empty for days while

20 kW Standby Generator Service in Middletown, NJ | Generac Generator

Dominic from Middletown, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since December of 2020. The generator was installed by another company and commissioned in October of 2017, and the servicing came to us three years later. It has been seen every year since, from December of 2020 through to November of 2025, without a gap. Two manufacturer warranty repairs were handled along the way, in 2024 and 2025, both at no cost to the household because the machine was on a documented service record when the faults appeared. An annual maintenance plan covers the yearly visit.

20 kW Standby Generator Service in Allentown, NJ | Generac Generator

Thomas from Allentown, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since October of 2019. The generator was installed by another company and commissioned in September of 2013, and the servicing came to us six years later. It has been seen every year since – 2019 through 2026 without a gap – working from the six-year service up to the ten-year interval it now repeats, with one manufacturer warranty repair handled in 2023. A machine in its thirteenth year is past the age at which most standby generators have been quietly abandoned, and the difference is entirely the interval:

24 kW Standby Generator Service in Middletown, NJ | Generac Generator

Joseph from Middletown, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since December of 2025. The generator was installed by another company and commissioned in November of 2024, and the servicing came to us a year later – early enough that the first-year service was our first visit rather than a catch-up on intervals already missed. Cellular monitoring was set up the following day. That combination is worth having from the start: the service establishes what condition the machine is in, and the monitoring keeps that picture current instead of letting it go stale until somebody next opens the

Generator Service in Little Silver, NJ | Client Since 2022

Rachel from Little Silver, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since April of 2022. The generator was installed by another company and commissioned in December of 2014, and the servicing came to us seven years later. It has been seen every spring since – April of 2022, April of 2023, April of 2024, March of 2025 and February of 2026 – working from the eight-year service up to the ten-year interval it now repeats. A repair visit followed in the summer of 2026. A machine now twelve years old keeps running because the interval has not been

Generator Service in Middletown, NJ | Client Since May 2020

Harold from Middletown, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since May of 2020. The generator was installed by another company and commissioned in May of 2014, and the servicing came to us six years later. The six-year service was completed in July of 2020, the seven-year service in July of 2021 and the eight-year in July of 2022, with two separate repair visits handled in 2022 alongside the scheduled work. Servicing here is arranged visit by visit rather than under a plan, which suits an owner who would rather decide each year than commit in advance –

14 kW Standby Generator Installation in Belford, NJ | Generac Generator

Diane from Belford, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since April of 2021. The generator was commissioned that December: 14 kW on natural gas, on a 100-amp service-entrance switch with a smart management module. A 100-amp service is the constraint that shapes a job like this – there is less headroom than a modern 200-amp panel allows, so the management module is what makes whole-house coverage possible at all rather than an optional refinement. The calculation asked for 12 kW across the 1,288 square foot house, with a sump pump, two refrigerators, a washer, a gas dryer
