The roof came first, finished on 15 November: a single layer stripped to the sheathing and hauled away, then 5,500 square feet of new composition shingle in pewter gray with a 50-year warranty – among the largest roofs on the site. The array followed a week later: 36 panels making 13.32 kW into a SolarEdge inverter with optimizers, and an estimated 10,064 kilowatt hours in the first year. JCP&L interconnected it in December. A roof that size is worth doing once and doing properly, and a 50-year covering beneath a 25-year array means the panels should never need lifting partway through their life.
