Standby Generator Service

A generator sits quietly for a year and then has to work on the one night it matters. That means the battery, the oil, the weekly test cycle and the transfer switch, all checked before the storm rather than during it. These are New Jersey homes we look after on a maintenance plan, and plenty of the generators on this list were installed by somebody else. Each one names the equipment on site and the town, so what you are reading is work we actually did rather than a list of what a plan covers.

937 completed generator service projects across 142 New Jersey towns, including 165 with a review written by the customer.

20 kW Generac standby generator in Red Bank, NJ

Standby Generator Service in Red Bank, NJ | Annual Maintenance and an Extended Warranty

George from Red Bank, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since November of 2018. A standby generator is only as good as the last time somebody looked at it, which is the whole point of the service contract he signed that autumn. It carries scheduled maintenance visits and a ten year warranty, so the unit gets exercised, inspected and serviced on a fixed calendar rather than after a failure. That coverage has been running for years now without a gap. Red Bank is in Monmouth County, where coastal storms make backup power less of a luxury than

20 kW Generac standby generator in Highlands, NJ

Standby Generator Service in Highlands, NJ | Generac 20 kW Standby Generator

Dave from Highlands, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since February of 2024. He and Anya put their 20 kW Generac under our PowerBase Silver plan, which covers the scheduled work a standby unit needs to stay reliable: oil and filters changed, battery tested, transfer switch checked, and the generator run under load so a fault shows up on a visit rather than in the dark. Highlands is in Monmouth County, right on the bay, where a northeaster takes the power out often enough that the plan pays for itself.

22 kW Generac standby generator in Holmdel, NJ

Standby Generator Service in Holmdel, NJ | A 2016 Generac 22 kW Standby Generator

Benjamin from Holmdel, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since April of 2020. He and Celeste put their 22 kW Generac on our Silver plan that spring and it has stayed there for six years. Silver is the maintenance tier and nothing more: oil and filters, a battery test, a transfer switch inspection and a run under load, done on a schedule. On a unit that size the maintenance is what keeps the repair bill from ever arriving. Holmdel is in Monmouth County.

Standby Generator Installation and Standby Generator Service in Red Bank, New Jersey

Generac 22 kW Standby Generator in Red Bank, NJ | 200-Amp Switch with Surge Protection

Gerri from Red Bank, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since January of 2015. She and Tom signed at the end of January and the generator was commissioned in late April, a 22 kW Generac in an aluminum enclosure on its own pad, behind a 200-amp service-rated transfer switch with surge protection built in and a five year warranty. A Generac service contract has kept it maintained through the decade since, which is why a unit from 2015 still starts. Red Bank is in Monmouth County, where we have been installing standby power for over a decade.

16 kW Generac standby generator in Bridgewater, NJ

Generac 16 kW Standby Generator in Bridgewater, NJ | Electric Dryer and Sump Pump

Carolanne from Bridgewater, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since October of 2019. She signed in October and the generator was commissioned in the first week of January, a 16 kW Generac feeding a 200-amp GenReady load center with power management built into the panel. It covers 2,130 square feet with two refrigerators, a freezer, an electric dryer and a sump pump, which is a heavier load than the floor area suggests. A Generac service contract has covered it since. Bridgewater is in Somerset County.

11 kW Generac standby generator in Long Branch, NJ

Standby Generator Service in Long Branch, NJ | Generac 11 kW | Client Since 2019

Suzanne from Long Branch, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since February of 2019. Her 11 kW Generac from the 6400 series sits on our Gold plan with a ten year term, which is a long commitment on a modest unit and exactly the right one: the smaller generators are the ones people forget about. Gold covers the scheduled maintenance and the parts across that decade. Long Branch is in Monmouth County, on the ocean, where outages arrive with the weather rather than by surprise.

17 kW Generac standby generator in Middletown, NJ

Standby Generator Service in Middletown, NJ | Generac 17 kW Standby Generator

Paul from Middletown, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since October of 2019. His 17 kW Generac from the 6200 series has been on our Silver plan for seven years. The plan is the boring half of owning backup power and the half that decides whether it works: filters and oil replaced, battery tested, transfer switch checked, unit run under load, on a schedule that does not depend on anybody remembering. Middletown is in Monmouth County.

22 kW Generac standby generator in Farmingdale, NJ

Generac 22 kW Standby Generator in Farmingdale, NJ | 150-Amp Switch with Surge Protection

Dominic from Farmingdale, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since March of 2024. He and Eileen signed in the second week of March and the generator was running by the start of May, a 22 kW Generac on a pad with a 150-amp service-rated transfer switch and a whole-house surge protective device, which guards the electronics against the spikes that come with a grid coming back up. A Generac service contract covers scheduled maintenance and monitoring. Farmingdale is in Monmouth County, where we install and service standby generators all year.

16 kW Generac standby generator in Shrewsbury, NJ

Standby Generator Service in Shrewsbury, NJ | Generac 16 kW with Wi-Fi Monitoring

Joseph from Shrewsbury, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since April of 2024. His 16 kW Generac from the 7000 series runs on Platinum, which pairs the scheduled maintenance with Wi-Fi monitoring so the unit is watched between visits as well as during them. On a generator that has to start in the dark without anybody present, knowing its status in advance is most of the value. Shrewsbury is in Monmouth County.

16 kW Generac standby generator in Belford, NJ

Generac 16 kW Generator Service in Belford, NJ | Annual Service Plan Silver with Wi-Fi

Tim from Belford, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since September of 2021. His 16 kW Generac from the 7100 series is on our PowerBase Silver plan. The Wi-Fi in that series is the part worth having: the generator tells you it has a problem instead of waiting for the next visit, and the visits themselves handle the oil, the filters, the battery and the transfer switch. Belford is in Monmouth County, close to the bay, where a wet spring finds every weak battery on the street.

22 kW Generac standby generator in Red Bank, NJ

Standby Generator Service in Red Bank, NJ | Generac 22 kW Standby Generator

Sandra from Red Bank, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since April of 2025. Her 22 kW Generac came under our PowerBase Silver plan that spring. Silver is the maintenance tier: our technicians change the oil and filters, load-test the battery, inspect the transfer switch and run the unit while they are there to watch how it behaves. A 22 kW machine carries a whole house, which is exactly why it should not be the thing nobody checks. Red Bank is in Monmouth County, where we service more generators than we install.

22 kW Generac standby generator in Hazlet, NJ

Generac Standby Generator Installation in Hazlet, NJ | 22 kW Unit with 150-Amp Transfer Switch

Tim from Hazlet, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since April of 2025. He and Joanne booked that spring and the generator was running by the middle of June, a Generac rated at 22 kW on liquid propane and 19.5 kW on natural gas, tied to a 150-amp automatic transfer switch. It is covered by a Generac service contract with scheduled maintenance, so the unit is exercised and inspected on a regular schedule rather than only when a storm is forecast. Hazlet is one of many Monmouth County towns where we keep generators ready.
