A New Roof and 24 Panels in Morganville, NJ

The roof came first, finished on 24 January: a single layer stripped to the sheathing and hauled away, then 3,300 square feet of new composition shingle in pewter gray with a 50-year warranty, along with new gutters. The array followed thirteen days later – 24 panels making 8.04 kW into a SolarEdge inverter with optimizers, and an estimated 10,074 kilowatt hours in the first year. JCP&L interconnected it in March. Doing the roof first is the only order that makes sense: a 50-year roof beneath a 25-year array means the panels should never have to come off and go back on partway through their life.
