EV Charger Installation

The charger is usually the easy part. What takes the thinking is the panel it connects to, the run from there to wherever the car actually sits, and whether the service coming into the house can carry it. These are chargers we installed at New Jersey homes, and each one names the unit, the circuit it runs on and the electrical service behind it.

90 completed EV charger projects across 74 New Jersey towns, including 8 with a review written by the customer.

Home EV Charger Installation in Springfield, NJ | ChargePoint on a 50-Amp Circuit

Doron from Springfield, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since September of 2023. He called at the start of September and the charger was in and working by the end of the month, a ChargePoint unit on a dedicated 50-amp circuit. A dedicated circuit at that rating is what separates overnight charging from all-day charging, and it is the part of the job that has to be done properly. Springfield is in Union County.

Home EV Charger Installation in Lake Como, NJ | ChargePoint Home Flex on a 50-Amp Circuit

Stephen from Lake Como, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since July of 2023. We installed a ChargePoint Home Flex on a dedicated 50-amp circuit, which is the difference between adding a few miles an hour overnight and filling the battery while you sleep. The Home Flex is adjustable, so the same unit can be dialed down if a panel cannot carry the full draw, and it handles a second car later without being replaced. The work was finished in September. Lake Como is in Monmouth County, a short walk from the ocean.

EV Charger Installation in Lebanon, NJ | A Hardwired ChargePoint on a 60-Amp Circuit

Daniel from Lebanon, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since October of 2023. A hardwired ChargePoint charger went in that December on a dedicated 60-amp circuit, with a J1772 connector and an estimated 36 miles of range added for every hour it charges. Hardwiring rather than plugging into a socket is what lets a unit run at its full continuous rating, and a circuit is sized at 125 percent of a continuous load, which is why a 60-amp breaker sits behind it. On a Hunterdon County commute that is a full battery every morning without anyone having

EV Charger Installation in Edison, NJ | A Hardwired ChargePoint With a NACS Connector

Xutao from Edison, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since September of 2025. The charger is a ChargePoint Home Flex, hardwired rather than plugged in, on a 60-amp circuit, and it was finished in October of 2025. It delivers around 11.5 kW through a NACS connector – the Tesla-pattern plug – rather than the J1772 that most other cars take. The load calculation put the minimum service panel at about 104 amps.

EV Charger Installation in Fanwood, NJ | A Hardwired ChargePoint on a 60-Amp Circuit

Scott from Fanwood, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since May of 2024. The charger is a ChargePoint Home Flex, hardwired rather than plugged in, on a 60-amp circuit, and it was finished in August of 2024. It delivers around 11.5 kW through a J1772 connector. The load calculation put the minimum service panel at about 145 amps, which on a house of this size is the number that settles whether a charger circuit can be added without touching the service first.

EV Charger Installation in East Windsor, NJ | A Hardwired ChargePoint on a 60-Amp Circuit

John from East Windsor, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since May of 2025. The charger is a ChargePoint Home Flex, hardwired rather than plugged in, on a 60-amp circuit, and it was finished in June of 2025. It delivers around 11.5 kW through a J1772 connector. The load calculation put the minimum service panel at about 109 amps – which is the sum that answers whether a house can take a charger circuit at all, before any conversation about which charger.

EV Charger Installation in Glen Rock, NJ | A Hardwired ChargePoint on a 60-Amp Circuit

Fadzi from Glen Rock, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since March of 2025. The charger is a ChargePoint Home Flex, hardwired rather than plugged in, on a 60-amp circuit, and it was finished in April of 2025. It delivers around 11.5 kW through a J1772 connector – the one every car except a Tesla takes without an adapter. Hardwiring is what the 60-amp circuit is for: a plug-in unit is limited by its receptacle, and a hardwired one is not.

Standby Generator and EV Charger Installation in Neptune, NJ | 18 kW and a Hardwired ChargePoint

Andy from Neptune, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since April of 2021. Two jobs three years apart, and the second one is easier because of the first. An 18 kW standby generator: A Generac 7226 rated 18 kW on propane and 17 kW on natural gas, running on natural gas, on a 150-amp transfer switch, commissioned in January of 2022. The house is about 2,000 square feet. Green Sun has serviced it in January of 2023, February of 2024, January of 2025 and January of 2026, and it reports to remote monitoring in between. An EV

EV Charger Installation in Somers Point, NJ | A Hardwired ChargePoint on a 60-Amp Circuit

Julie from Somers Point, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since December of 2025. The charger is a ChargePoint Home Flex, hardwired rather than plugged in, on a 60-amp circuit, and it was finished in March of 2026. It delivers around 11.5 kW through a J1772 connector. The load calculation put the minimum service panel at about 144 amps – that figure, not the charger, is what decides whether a house can take a 60-amp charger circuit without further work.

EV Charger Installation in Middletown, NJ | A Plug-In ChargePoint on a NEMA 6-50 Outlet

Bryan from Middletown, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since August of 2023. The charger is a ChargePoint Home Flex on a NEMA 6-50 outlet, finished in September of 2023, with a J1772 connector – the one every car except a Tesla takes without an adapter. The load calculation put the minimum service panel at about 143 amps. Going plug-in rather than hardwired was the sensible call on a house this size: the unit unplugs if the garage is reorganized or the house is sold, and the outlet stays as a piece of infrastructure whatever is hanging

EV Charger Installation in Metuchen, NJ | A Customer-Supplied ChargePoint on a NEMA 6-50

Jozef from Metuchen, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since September of 2024. The charger is a ChargePoint Home Flex the household bought themselves; Green Sun did the electrical work and the installation, finished in October of 2024, on a NEMA 6-50 outlet with a J1772 connector. The load calculation put the minimum service panel at about 144 amps, which is the number that decides whether a charger circuit can be added at all – buying the unit is the easy half, and the panel is the half that says yes or no.

EV Charger Installation in River Vale, NJ | A Hardwired ChargePoint at 11.5 kW

Yoo-Kyoung from River Vale, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since April of 2025. The charger is a ChargePoint Home Flex, hardwired rather than plugged in, on a 60-amp circuit, and it was finished in May of 2025. That delivers around 11.5 kW to the car through a J1772 connector. The difference between hardwired and plug-in is not the charger – it is the same unit – it is that a receptacle caps what the unit is allowed to draw, and hardwiring does not.
