EV Charger Installation

The charger is usually the easy part. What takes the thinking is the panel it connects to, the run from there to wherever the car actually sits, and whether the service coming into the house can carry it. These are chargers we installed at New Jersey homes, and each one names the unit, the circuit it runs on and the electrical service behind it.

90 completed EV charger projects across 74 New Jersey towns, including 8 with a review written by the customer.

EV Charger Installation in Deptford, NJ | A Hardwired ChargePoint on a 60-Amp Circuit

Markicia from Deptford, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since February of 2025. The charger is a ChargePoint Home Flex, hardwired on a dedicated 60-amp circuit, finished in March of 2025, with a J1772 connector. The load calculation put the minimum service panel at about 107 amps, which is the sum that decides whether a 60-amp charger circuit can be added to a house at all – it is a question about the panel, not about the car.

EV Charger Installation in New Milford, NJ | A Plug-In ChargePoint on a NEMA 6-50 Outlet

Joshua from New Milford, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since September of 2023. The charger is a ChargePoint Home Flex on a NEMA 6-50 outlet, finished in October of 2023, with a J1772 connector – the one everything except a Tesla takes without an adapter. The plug-in version was the right call here: it comes off the wall if the house is sold or the garage is reorganized, and on a NEMA 6-50 it still charges far faster than a wall outlet ever will.

EV Charger Installation in Old Bridge, NJ | A Hardwired ChargePoint on a 60-Amp Circuit

Syed from Old Bridge, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since February of 2024. The charger is a ChargePoint Home Flex, hardwired rather than plugged in, on a dedicated 60-amp circuit, and it was finished in March of 2024. It has a J1772 connector, which is what everything except a Tesla takes without an adapter. Hardwiring is the reason the 60-amp circuit is worth having: the plug-in version of the same charger is limited by its receptacle, and the hardwired one is not.

EV Charger Installation in Edison, NJ | A Hardwired ChargePoint With a Tesla NACS Connector

Munir from Edison, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since March of 2025. A ChargePoint went in that May, hardwired on a dedicated 60-amp circuit and fitted with the NACS connector – the Tesla plug. Choosing the connector is choosing which car plugs in without an adapter, and it is worth deciding on what is in the driveway rather than on what the standard is called: at 11.5 kW the charging speed is identical either way.

EV Charger Installation in Red Bank, NJ | A Plug-In ChargePoint on a 60-Amp NEMA 6-50 Outlet

James from Red Bank, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since September of 2023. A ChargePoint went in that October, the plug-in version, on a dedicated 60-amp circuit ending in a NEMA 6-50 outlet. The circuit is the part that lasts: charger hardware turns over every few years as cars and connectors change, while a properly sized 60-amp run and a 6-50 receptacle stay useful for whatever gets plugged into them next.

EV Charger Installation in Millstone Township, NJ | A Hardwired ChargePoint on Its Own 60-Amp Run

Michael from Millstone Township, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since September of 2025. A ChargePoint went in that October, hardwired, on a 60-amp circuit run back to the panel for this one appliance and nothing else. The dedicated run is the part people underestimate: a car charger draws its full load for hours at a stretch, which is a duty cycle no ordinary household circuit is designed around, and sharing one is how breakers start tripping at two in the morning.

EV Charger Installation in Monmouth Beach, NJ | A Plug-In ChargePoint on a Dedicated 60-Amp Circuit

Chris from Monmouth Beach, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since September of 2023. A ChargePoint went in the following January, the plug-in version, on a dedicated 60-amp circuit ending in a NEMA 6-50 outlet. That is the same receptacle a welder or an electric range uses, which is the quiet advantage of it: any electrician can inspect it, test it and work on it without needing to know a thing about electric cars.

EV Charger Installation in Highlands, NJ | A Plug-In ChargePoint on a NEMA 6-50 Outlet

Chris from Highlands, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since September of 2023. A ChargePoint went in that October on its own dedicated circuit – the plug-in version rather than the hardwired one, ending in a NEMA 6-50 plug and an outlet on the wall instead of running straight into the panel. That is a real choice rather than a shortcut. A plugged unit can be unplugged: taken to a new house, swapped for a newer model, or lifted off for work on the wall behind it, none of which needs an electrician, and the outlet stays

EV Charger Installation in Howell, NJ | 11.5 kW on a J1772 Connector, Hardwired

Maria and Adrian from Howell, NJ have been Green Sun Energy Services clients since September of 2024. A ChargePoint CPH50 went in that November, hardwired on a dedicated 60-amp circuit and fitted with the J1772 connector every non-Tesla car in North America uses. At 11.5 kW it adds about 36 miles of range an hour, which is the figure that matters more than the headline rating: a normal overnight stop refills far more than a day of driving, so the car leaves full every morning without anyone having to think about it.

EV Charger Installation in Summit, NJ | A ChargePoint With a Tesla NACS Connector at 11.5 kW

Pushpa from Summit, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since February of 2025. A ChargePoint CPH50 went in that March on a dedicated 60-amp circuit, hardwired, delivering 11.5 kW – about 36 miles of range an hour. This one is the NACS version: the connector Tesla uses, now standardised as SAE J3400 and adopted by most other manufacturers for their newer cars. Choosing it means the charger on the wall matches the port on the car without an adapter, this car and probably the next one.

EV Charger Installation in Keyport, NJ | A Hardwired ChargePoint at 11.5 kW on a 60-Amp Circuit

John from Keyport, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since November of 2024. A ChargePoint CPH50 went in that December – hardwired rather than plugged into an outlet, on a dedicated 60-amp circuit. That combination is what delivers 11.5 kW at the car, roughly 36 miles of range an hour: a 60-amp circuit carries 48 amps continuously, and hardwiring is what lets the unit take all of it. It also removes the plug and receptacle, which are the parts of a charging installation that heat and wear.

Solar, EV Charger and Generator Service in Red Bank, NJ | 27 Panels, a Charger and a Takeover

Johanna from Red Bank, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since April of 2023. The solar and the charger were ordered within days of each other in the summer of 2023, and the servicing of the generator already at the house moved to Green Sun the following year. 11.34 kW of solar: Twenty-seven REC panels went up in October of 2023, 11.34 kW in total on Snap-N-Rack mounting, with a first-year production estimate of 14,283 kWh. A hundred and ninety-six feet of critter guard was fitted around the array on the same visit, which keeps squirrels and
