EV Charger Installation

The charger is usually the easy part. What takes the thinking is the panel it connects to, the run from there to wherever the car actually sits, and whether the service coming into the house can carry it. These are chargers we installed at New Jersey homes, and each one names the unit, the circuit it runs on and the electrical service behind it.

90 completed EV charger projects across 74 New Jersey towns, including 8 with a review written by the customer.

Solar Panel Installation in Franklin Township, NJ | 24 Panels and 7.56 kW

Harvey from Franklin Township, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since November of 2016. The array was commissioned in January of 2017. Twenty-four LG 315N1K-G4 panels, 7.56 kW in total, on QuickMount mounting with a SolarEdge inverter and P400 optimizers. The design estimate is 9,811 kWh in the first year. A January commissioning is worth noting: an array switched on at the darkest point of the year gives its owner a full seasonal cycle to watch before the first summer, which is a better way to learn what a roof actually does than a single sunny month.

EV charger booked 1 June 2026; solar still at Qualified. Awaiting installation completion date.

EV Charger Installation in Freehold, NJ | ChargePoint Home Flex, A 30-Amp Circuit With Load Management

Dominick from Freehold, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since August of 2023. A ChargePoint Home Flex went in that September, a plug-in unit on a NEMA 6-50 outlet fed by a 30-amp circuit, with a load-management module alongside it. Charging at 5.8 kW rather than the highest rate the unit allows is a deliberate trade: a smaller circuit and a load manager mean the charger works within what the panel already carries, and an overnight charge does not need to be fast to be finished by morning.

EV Charger Installation in Voorhees, NJ | ChargePoint Home Flex, Hardwired on a 60-Amp Circuit

Herbert from Voorhees, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since September of 2024. A ChargePoint Home Flex was hardwired in that November on its own 60-amp circuit, an 11.5 kW charger on an Atlantic City Electric supply. It calls for a minimum 106-amp service and the house has 200, so there was capacity to spare and nothing else had to change. Hardwiring rather than plugging in is what allows the full circuit to be used; a plug-in unit is held to whatever its receptacle can carry.

EV Charger Installation in Manalapan, NJ | A ChargePoint NACS Charger on a 60-Amp Circuit

Mayank from Manalapan, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since May of 2025. A ChargePoint charger with a NACS connector was installed in June, on its own 60-amp circuit. The charger calls for a minimum 180-amp service and the house has 200, so nothing had to be upgraded to make room for it. That is worth establishing before a charger is bought rather than after, because the answer decides whether the job is an afternoon’s work or a service upgrade.

Standby Generator and EV Charger in Colts Neck, NJ | Thirty Essential Circuits and a 60-Amp Charger

John from Colts Neck, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since October of 2024, and both jobs on this page were done within five weeks of each other. A 22.5 kW Generac on thirty circuits: Commissioned on 6 January 2025. The house is 8,037 square feet on a 400-amp service, and the whole-house calculation under NEC Article 220 came to 32 kW. The machine that went in is rated 22.5 kW on natural gas – 26 kW on propane – which is not a shortfall but a different question answered. Rather than back up the whole of

EV Charger Installation in Somerville, NJ | An 11.5 kW Charger

Michael from Somerville, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since March of 2024. The charger went in on 12 April: a hardwired ChargePoint Level 2 unit rated 11.5 kW on a dedicated 60-amp circuit. The load calculation put the minimum service at 108 amps against the 200-amp supply the house already had, so the circuit went in without the panel being touched. Five weeks separated the contract from the installation, most of it the borough permit and the utility rebate paperwork – the parts of an EV charger job that take longest and show least.

EV Charger Installation in Somerset, NJ | A Load-Managed Charger on 100 Amps

Suresh from Somerset, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since February of 2025. The charger went in on 6 March: a hardwired ChargePoint Level 2 unit rated 11.5 kW on a dedicated 60-amp circuit, with a load management module and a service-disconnect switch. The load calculation put the minimum service at 140 amps against a 100-amp panel, which is why the module is there: rather than upgrading the service, it holds the charger inside what the existing supply can carry. That is the answer most households want to hear – an older panel does not rule out

Standby Generator, Solar and EV Charger Installation in Forked River, NJ | A Charger and 29 Panels

Robert from Forked River, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since June of 2024, and in the sixteen months that followed the house took three trades in a deliberate order. A 19.5 kW Generac on a managed whole-house switch: Commissioned in October of 2024: a Generac Guardian rated 19.5 kW on natural gas – 22 kW were it running on propane – behind a 200-amp managed whole-house transfer switch with two smart management modules and whole-house surge protection. The house is 2,700 square feet with two refrigerators, a dishwasher, a washer and a gas dryer. Two management

EV Charger Installation in Manchester, NJ | An 11.5 kW Charger on 50 Amps

William from Manchester, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since August of 2023. The charger went in on 27 October: a ChargePoint Level 2 unit rated 11.5 kW on a dedicated 50-amp circuit. The load calculation put the minimum service at 122 amps against the 150-amp supply the house already had, so the circuit went in without the panel being touched. Two months separated the contract from the installation, most of it the township permit – the part of an EV charger job that takes longest and shows least, and the part that separates a professional installation

EV Charger Installation in Manahawkin, NJ | A ChargePoint Home Flex

Brian from Manahawkin, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since August of 2023. The charger went in on 29 September: a ChargePoint Home Flex rated 11.5 kW on a dedicated 50-amp circuit. The load calculation put the minimum service at 129 amps against the 150-amp supply the house already had, so the circuit went in without the panel being touched. The Home Flex is the adjustable unit in the ChargePoint range – the installer sets it to the circuit it is fitted to rather than the circuit being sized to the charger, which is what allows a

EV Charger Installation in Freehold, NJ | A Charger and a 200-Amp Service Upgrade

Marybeth from Freehold, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since September of 2024. The charger went in on 26 November: a hardwired ChargePoint Level 2 unit rated 11.5 kW on a dedicated 60-amp circuit, with the load calculation putting the minimum service at 133 amps. A service upgrade followed in February – the supply taken underground and up to 200 amps with a new forty-space panel. That is the other answer when a load calculation comes back above what a panel can carry: load management holds a charger inside an existing service, and upgrading the service removes
