Roofing Installation

Replacing a roof with solar on it is a different job from replacing one without, and we do both. These are roofs we installed at New Jersey homes, with the system that went on, the area it covers and the town. Some are houses where the array came off, the roof went on and the array went back, which is a day nobody wants to repeat.

92 completed roofing projects across 64 New Jersey towns, including 18 with a review written by the customer.

Roofing Installation in Cherry Hill, NJ

Roofing and Solar Panel Installation in Cherry Hill, NJ | A New Roof, Then 8.88 kW

Peter from Cherry Hill, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since September of 2020. Roof and array were bought on the same day and built in the right order. A new roof: About 2,700 square feet of GAF Timberline Lifetime shingle, finished in November of 2020, taking in 248 feet of rakes, eaves and valleys – the edges and the water channels, where the ice-and-water membrane goes and where a roof leaks first. 8.88 kW of solar: Twenty-four Solaria 370-watt panels on an Ecolibrium Solar mounting system, finished at the end of November, with first-year production estimated

Roofing Installation and Solar Panel Installation in Belford, NJ

Roofing and Solar Panel Installation in Belford, NJ | A New Roof, Then 12.9 kW

Andrew from Belford, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since August of 2025. Both jobs were signed on the same day and built six days apart, roof first. A new roof: GAF Timberline Lifetime shingle, finished in September of 2025, taking in 280 feet of rakes, eaves and valleys. On a house this close to the bay the edges are the part that decides how a roof handles wind-driven rain, which is where the ice-and-water membrane goes. 12.9 kW of solar: Thirty Jinko 430-watt panels on IronRidge rail, finished at the end of September, with first-year production

41-panel 14.97 kW solar array in Westfield, NJ

Solar Panel Installation and Roofing Installation in Westfield, NJ | A Partial Reroof and 41 Panels

Paul Nicholson has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since October of 2022, when he booked a roof and a solar array together. The roof was finished on 8 February 2023 and the array a week later. The part of the roof that needed it: Only part of this roof was replaced, and that was deliberate. A newer dimensional roof on one section of the house was sound and was left exactly where it was. The older 2,900 square feet came off instead, a single layer stripped down to the sheathing, cleaned up and carted away with the dumpster

1,600 sq. ft. roof in Middletown, NJ

Solar Panel Installation and Roofing Installation in Middletown, NJ | Three Layers Off and 16 Panels

Kaitlin Campbell has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since February of 2025, when the roof and the solar array were bought on the same day. The roof was replaced first and the panels followed, both inside a week at the turn of February and March. Three layers off, 1,600 square feet on: Most roofs on this site come off in one layer, and a fair number in two. This one came off in three. That means the original shingles had been covered over twice before anybody looked underneath, and it is a great deal more tear-off and disposal

1,700 sq. ft. roof in Summit, NJ

Solar Panel Installation and Roofing Installation in Summit, NJ | 12 Panels and a Battery

Katherine Bonnington has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since September of 2024, when the roof and the solar array were bought on the same day. The roof was finished on 10 January 2025 and the array a week later. 1,700 square feet, and the garage left out of it: The old shingles came off down to the sheathing and left with the dumpster. Deck protection went over the exposed sheathing, then a GAF Timberline HDZ system in Pewter carrying a 50-year warranty, aluminum drip edge along 194 feet of rakes and eaves, and a ridge vent along the

1,200 sq. ft. roof in Newark, NJ

Solar Panel Installation and Roofing Installation in Newark, NJ | 20 Panels

This Newark household has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since February of 2023, when the roof and the solar array were bought on the same day. The roof was finished on 8 May 2023 and the array eight days later. 1,200 square feet, stripped to the deck: A single layer of old shingles came off down to the sheathing and left with the dumpster. Deck protection went over the exposed sheathing, then a GAF Timberline HDZ system in Weathered Wood carrying a 50-year warranty, aluminum drip edge along 72 feet of rakes and eaves, and a ridge vent

37-panel 17.02 kW solar array in Princeton, NJ

Roof, Solar and Generator in Princeton, NJ | 17.02 kW Array and 26 kW Backup

Mohamad from Princeton, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since January of 2025, when he bought all three trades on a single day. What the house needed was not simply a new array – it already had one, sitting on a roof that had reached the end of its life. The array that had to come off first: There is no way to reroof a house underneath a live solar array. The panels are fastened through the roof they sit on, so the existing system was taken down before the roofers arrived and the deck was handed

Solar Panel Installation and Roofing in Monroe Township, NJ | 9.49 kW on a New Roof

Sean from Monroe Township, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since June of 2021. The roof and the array were sold a day apart and built a week apart, roof first. A new roof: About 4,400 square feet of GAF Timberline Lifetime shingle, stripped and replaced in September of 2021, taking in 370 feet of rakes, eaves and valleys. That is a large roof by any measure, and the edge footage is the part that decides how it handles driven rain and ice at the gutter line. 9.49 kW of solar: Twenty-six LG 365-watt panels on an

Roofing and Solar Panel Installation in Mystic Islands, NJ | 9.315 kW on a New Roof

Enrico from Mystic Islands, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since October of 2023. Both jobs were sold on the same day and built five weeks apart, roof first. A new roof: About 2,800 square feet of GAF Timberline Lifetime shingle, finished in November of 2023, taking in 231 feet of rakes, eaves and valleys. On a barrier-island house the edges are the part that matters most: that is where wind gets under a shingle course and where driven rain finds its way in. 9.315 kW of solar: Twenty-three Qcells 405-watt panels on a Snap-N-Rack mounting system,

Roof Replacement in Somerset, NJ | 4,000 Square Feet of GAF Timberline

Ela from Somerset, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since August of 2020. The roof is about 4,000 square feet and was stripped and replaced with the GAF Timberline Lifetime system in August of 2020. The job took in 421 feet of rakes, eaves and valleys – the edges and the water channels, which are where a roof leaks first and where the ice-and-water membrane has to go. A tear-off of that size is a two-day job done properly, and the decking underneath only shows what it is once the old layer is off.

Solar Panel Installation in Atlantic Highlands, NJ | 8.28 kW and 140 Feet of Critter Guard

Bojan from Atlantic Highlands, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since May of 2022. The array is 8.28 kW – 23 REC 360-watt black-frame panels on a Snap-N-Rack mounting system – and it was finished in August of 2022. First-year production was estimated at 9,780 kWh. The job also included 140 feet of critter guard around the perimeter. That is the mesh that closes the gap between the panels and the roof, and on a house this close to the water it is worth doing at install rather than after something has already nested under there.

Roofing and Solar Panel Installation in Eatontown, NJ | A 4,600 Square Foot Roof and an 18.48 kW Array

Quality of Life Chiropractic Center in Eatontown, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since August of 2023. The roof and the array were bought together in August and installed nine days apart that November. 4,600 square feet of new roof: The old covering came off in a single layer on 19 November 2023 – stripped back to the deck rather than shingled over – and went back on as a GAF Timberline Lifetime system. There are 385 linear feet of rakes, eaves and valleys on the building, and edges are where a roof of this size starts
