Solar Critter Guard

Solar Panel Installation in Atlantic Highlands, NJ | 8.28 kW and 140 Feet of Critter Guard

Bojan from Atlantic Highlands, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since May of 2022. The array is 8.28 kW – 23 REC 360-watt black-frame panels on a Snap-N-Rack mounting system – and it was finished in August of 2022. First-year production was estimated at 9,780 kWh. The job also included 140 feet of critter guard around the perimeter. That is the mesh that closes the gap between the panels and the roof, and on a house this close to the water it is worth doing at install rather than after something has already nested under there.

Solar Panel Installation in Freehold, NJ | 39 Hanwha Panels, 12.48 kW and 172 Feet of Critter Guard

Paul from Freehold, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since March of 2020. Thirty-nine Hanwha Q.PEAK DUO 320-watt panels went on the roof that June – 12.48 kW in all, estimated at 13,774 kWh in the first year – on an Ecolibrium rail-free system, with 172 linear feet of critter guard around the perimeter. That is one of the longer runs of guard in the portfolio, and every foot of it is a foot nothing can get under.

Solar Panel Installation in Hamilton, NJ | 21 REC 460-Watt Panels and 160 Feet of Critter Guard

Paul from Hamilton, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since January of 2025. Twenty-one REC 460-watt panels went on the roof that February – 9.66 kW in all, estimated at 10,479 kWh in the first year – on a Snap-N-Rack rail-free system, with 160 linear feet of critter guard closed around the array. At 460 watts a panel these are among the highest-rated modules we install, which is why twenty-one of them reach almost ten kilowatts.

Solar Panel Installation in Hamilton, NJ | 30 All-Black Panels, 9.6 kW and 112 Feet of Critter Guard

Mark from Hamilton, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since October of 2019. Thirty Hanwha Q.PEAK DUO 320-watt panels went on the roof that December – 9.6 kW in all, estimated at 12,014 kWh in the first year – on a Unirac rail-free system, with 112 linear feet of critter guard closed around the array. These are the all-black modules, so from the street the array reads as one dark shape rather than thirty framed rectangles.

Solar Panel Installation in Jackson, NJ | 36 Hanwha Panels, 11.7 kW and 120 Feet of Critter Guard

Stas from Jackson, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since October of 2019. Thirty-six Hanwha Q.PEAK DUO 325-watt panels went on the roof that December – 11.7 kW in all, estimated at 13,028 kWh in the first year – on an Ecolibrium rail-free system, with 120 linear feet of critter guard closed around the perimeter. The guard is the part people skip and regret: the gap between panel and roof is exactly the shelter a squirrel is looking for, and the wiring is what gets chewed.

Roofing and Solar Panel Installation in Eatontown, NJ | A 4,600 Square Foot Roof and an 18.48 kW Array

Quality of Life Chiropractic Center in Eatontown, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since August of 2023. The roof and the array were bought together in August and installed nine days apart that November. 4,600 square feet of new roof: The old covering came off in a single layer on 19 November 2023 – stripped back to the deck rather than shingled over – and went back on as a GAF Timberline Lifetime system. There are 385 linear feet of rakes, eaves and valleys on the building, and edges are where a roof of this size starts

Solar Panel Installation in Bayville, NJ | 29 LG Panels, 9.7 kW and 152 Feet of Critter Guard

Walter and Barbara from Bayville, NJ have been Green Sun Energy Services clients since September of 2019. Twenty-nine LG 335-watt panels went on the roof that December – 9.715 kW in all, estimated at 12,710 kWh in the first year – on a Unirac rail-free mounting system, with 152 linear feet of critter guard closed around the edge of the array. Rail-free keeps the panels low to the roof plane, and the guard shuts the gap underneath before anything decides to nest in it.

Solar Panel Installation in Middletown, NJ | 19 Jinko Panels, 8 kW and 180 Feet of Critter Guard

Turner from Middletown, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since June of 2025. Nineteen Jinko 425-watt panels went up that August – 8.075 kW in all, estimated at 9,397 kWh in the first year – on an IronRidge rail system. The array also carries 180 linear feet of critter guard around its perimeter. That is the mesh that closes the gap between the panels and the roof, which is otherwise where squirrels and nesting birds get in and start on the wiring.

Johanna from Red Bank, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since April of 2023. A hundred and ninety-six feet of critter guard was fitted around the array on the same visit, which keeps squirrels and

Solar and Standby Generator Installation in Allentown, NJ | 26 Panels and a 13 kW Generac

Lisa from Allentown, NJ has been a Green Sun Energy Services client since November of 2018. The array went up first and the standby generator followed two years later, which is the order most houses arrive at rather than plan for. 8.32 kW of solar: Twenty-six LG panels went on in November of 2018, 8.32 kW in total, with a first-year production estimate of 10,243 kWh. The mounting is a rail-free system, so each panel is carried on its own pair of brackets rather than on a continuous rail — fewer components on the roof and fewer penetrations to seal.
